Student Wellbeing

The Adelaide Secondary School of English has a whole-school approach to positive mental health and wellbeing. Student Wellbeing is formally included across the curriculum specifically in the Personal Learning and Wellbeing (PLW) Program which leads into Exploring Identities and Futures (EIF).

The Student Services team work with department for education support services and community agencies to further enhance whole school wellbeing.

Student voice is supported through the student representative council (SRC) which meets weekly.

Student Support Services

Further support is sought from the department for education referral services and Community Liaison Officers (CLOs). School Support Officers (SSOs), Bilingual Student Support Officers (BSSOs) and volunteers are regularly involved in providing one-to-one and/or small group support to students.

Students are able to participate in various clubs and sporting activities during lunchtimes. Extracurricular activities are often offered after school, including interschool sport competitions.

Adelaide Secondary School of English acknowledges that we are meeting on the traditional Country of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains and pays respect to Elders past and present.
We recognise and respect their cultural heritage, beliefs and relationship with the land. We acknowledge that they are of continuing importance to the Kaurna people living today.
And we also extend that respect to other Aboriginal Language Groups and other First Nations.
